A FASTag cannot be used with two or more vehicles; rather, you must purchase two separate FASTags for each vehicle.
According to the IHMCL website, if you live within the 10 km range from the toll plaza, you can avail the concession on tolls paid through your FASTag. As such, you will have to submit the required documents.
Such as your place of residence, the nearest POS location to ensure that your residential address is within 10 km of a particular toll plaza. Once the address is verified, you can avail the concession on tolls paid through the fastag assigned to your vehicle.

What will be the benefit of FASTag? फास्टैग का क्या होगा फायदा?: The biggest advantage of using a FASTag is that the queues at toll plazas will disappear. According to the National Highway Authority of India or NHAI if there is overloading on a commercial vehicle such as a truck, then the penalty from the vehicle owner will also be recovered from FASTag itself. For this, equipment like weighing machines, etc. are being installed on the toll plazas.
After estimating the weight of the truck the toll amount will automatically be deducted via FASTag. If your car does not have FASTag and you want to cross the toll plaza, then you will have to pay double the amount.
If you pass through the toll plaza and the RFID scanner machine malfunctions, and it is unable to scan the vehicle’s FASTag and the gate of the toll plaza does not open, then according to the rules of the NHAI, the toll plaza operator will have to let you pass without toll.
In addition, they will also manually provide you a receipt of zero fees, so that the transaction of that car is recorded. It is being planned to enable the use of FASTag for other facilities such as fuel payment and parking charges in the future.

नेशनल हाईवे अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया या एनएचएआई के अनुसार यदि ट्रक जैसे व्यावसायिक वाहन पर ओवरलोडिंग होती है, तो वाहन मालिक से जुर्माना भी फैस्टैग से ही वसूला जाएगा। इसके लिए टोल प्लाजा पर तौल मशीन आदि उपकरण लगाए जा रहे हैं।
ट्रक के वजन का आकलन करने के बाद टोल राशि को स्वतः ही FASTag के द्वारा काटा जाएगा। यदि आपकी कार में FASTag नहीं है और आप टोल प्लाजा को पार करना चाहते हैं, तो आपको दोगुनी राशि का भुगतान करना होगा।
